Liberi Lectio Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 6, 2026

At Liberi Lectio we help children learn to read through play. We know our users are kids, so we treat their data with special care: we collect the minimum needed for the app to work and for the adults in charge to follow their progress. This Policy explains what information we collect, what we use it for, who we share it with, and what rights you have.

Summary

  • Accounts are always created by an adult (mother, father, guardian or teacher) from our web dashboard. Children do not sign up on their own.
  • For the child, we store only what is needed for learning: their name or nickname, an illustrated avatar, their level and the results of their games.
  • We don't show ads, we don't sell data, we don't track users across apps, and we don't use third-party analytics or advertising tools.
  • The app does not record audio or use the device's camera, location or contacts.
  • The responsible adult can view, correct and delete the child's data at any time.

1. Who we are

The data controller is Liberi Lectio Inc., located at 1007 N Orange St. 4th Floor, 6076, Wilmington, DE 19801, New Castle, US(hereinafter “Liberi Lectio”, “we”, “us”). You can contact us at privacidad@liberilectio.com.

2. What this Policy covers

This Policy applies to the Liberi Lectio app for iPad (the “App”) and to our web administration dashboard at https://app.liberilectio.com (the “Dashboard”), together the “Service”. It does not apply to third-party sites or services that may be reached from the Service.

3. Who uses the Service and how accounts are created

The Service has two types of users:

  • Responsible adult: mother, father, legal guardian or teacher. They create their account on the Dashboard, set up the profiles of the children in their care, and are the ones who sign in to the App.
  • Student: the child who plays in the App. They have no account or email of their own: they play within the profile the adult created.

When the Service is used by a school or educational institution, accounts are created by the teacher or the institution, acting on behalf of families for exclusively educational purposes (see section 9).

4. What information we collect

4.1. From the responsible adult

  • Name and email address.
  • Password. It is managed by our authentication provider and stored encrypted; we cannot see it.
  • Profile picture, only if the adult chooses to upload one.
  • Subscription status (whether it is paid or not). Card details are processed directly by Stripe; we neither receive nor store them.
  • Communications they send us (for example, support requests).

4.2. From the student (entered by the adult on the Dashboard)

  • Name and display name (which may be a nickname).
  • Avatar: an illustration chosen from our gallery. No photos of the child are uploaded.
  • Date of birth, to adapt the content to their age.
  • Whether the profile is active.

4.3. Generated by using the App

  • Progress: current level and completed levels, and the reward puzzle pieces earned.
  • Game statistics: for each game, correct and incorrect answers, number of attempts, time spent, and the date and time of the session.

This data is linked to the student's profile so the adult can see how they are progressing.

4.4. Technical information

  • The App stores session data (an access code) on the device so the adult does not have to sign in every time.
  • If the user has allowed it in their device settings, Apple may share anonymous crash and performance reports with us, which we use only to fix bugs.

4.5. What we do NOT collect

  • Voice or audio: some games ask the child to say a sound out loud, but the App does not record anything.
  • Photos or video, location, contacts, or the device's advertising identifier.
  • We don't use advertising cookies or third-party analytics or advertising tools in the App.

6. Who we share the information with

We do not sell or rent personal data. We only share it with:

  • Providers that deliver services to us, under contract and only to provide the Service: Supabase (database and authentication, with servers in the United States); Apple (App distribution); Stripe (processing subscription payments on our website; it receives the adult's payment details, never the child's data).
  • The responsible adult and, where applicable, the school or teacher in charge of the student.
  • Authorities, when required by law.
  • In the event of a merger, acquisition or sale of the company, the buyer would be bound to respect this Policy.

7. Children's privacy

The Service is designed for children under 13, and we comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and equivalent laws in other countries:

  • Parental consent: accounts are always created by a responsible adult (mother, father, guardian or the school), who, by signing up, authorizes the processing of the child's data described in this Policy. Without that authorization we do not enter any child's data.
  • Only what is necessary: we don't ask the child for more data than needed to play, and we don't make their participation conditional on providing more information.
  • Parents' rights: they can review their child's data, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and refuse further collection, by writing to privacidad@liberilectio.com or from the Dashboard.
  • No ads or tracking:the App does not show ads or include links to purchases or external sites within the child's reach.

8. Data retention

  • We keep the data for as long as the account is active.
  • If the adult deletes a student's profile or their account, we delete the associated data within 30 days, and from backups within 90 days.
  • We may keep aggregated, anonymous statistics, which no longer identify anyone, to improve the games.
  • We keep whatever the law requires us to keep (for example, billing records) for the legally required period.

9. Schools and teachers

When a school or teacher uses the Service with their students, we process the data following their instructions and only for educational purposes. The institution is responsible for obtaining families' authorization where required. Families may direct their requests about the student's data to the school or directly to us.

10. Security

We protect information with reasonable technical and organizational measures: all communication between the App, the Dashboard and our servers is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS); passwords are stored encrypted; access to data is restricted to each account and to the staff who need it. No system is 100% secure: if an incident affecting personal data occurs, we will notify those affected and the authorities as required by law.

11. Your rights

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may request to: access your data (or that of the child in your care), correct it, delete it, receive it in a portable format, object to or restrict its use, and withdraw your consent. To do so, email us at privacidad@liberilectio.com. We will ask you to confirm your identity and will respond within the legal deadlines (10 business days in Argentina / 1 month in the EU / 45 days in the U.S.). Exercising these rights is free of charge.

11.1. European Union and United Kingdom

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your country.

11.2. United States

In addition to the COPPA rights described in section 7, residents of some states (for example, California) may have additional rights over their data. We do not sell or share personal data for targeted advertising.

12. International transfers

Our providers may store or process data in countries other than yours, such as the United States. In those cases we use the safeguards required by law, such as standard contractual clauses, so that the data receives an adequate level of protection.

13. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy at any time. The current version will always be published on this page, with the date of the last update at the top. We recommend reviewing it periodically. If you continue using the Service after a change, you are deemed to accept the updated Policy.
